Handmade Wedding

I caught an episode of Kirstie's Vintage Home the other day, it was about a vintage wedding and got me thinking about my own wedding earlier this year

The advantage of being a self employed  maker is that you meet so many creative and wonderful people along the way. We could not have had the truly amazing day with out the help from family and friends but I just want to share some images and links from the talented and wonderful people and companies who helped make our day beautiful.

The dress.
My dream dress in an olive coloured silk, lace top, made from my grandmothers wedding dress, and you can't see it here but a beautiful pink lace underskirt- it rustled when I moved!
Marie's blog is here if you get the opportunity to go local, and support an independent designer/ maker- my only advice is do it!

Photographs by the wonderfully talented Andrew Hardie

My day was truly special, and although I know everyone loves their own day, what made it so amazing for me was knowing that so many talented people had contributed.  I had things that were hand finished and bespoke, but more importantly I helped independent makers earn their living.
There are so many talented people out there, take some time to hunt out the people who can make your day as unique and special as you x

Hello

It's been ages... far too long, and what is most annoying is that I have a load of draft posts waiting, all I needed to do was press post, but I didn't. But from now on I promise (to try) and do better! Here are some pictures from my summer...  I've been growing, growing, growing, these "Kerr's Pink" were delicious   Playing with new signage (do you like my new bathroom tiles?) Loving Lobsters! I have adopted this lovely little hog, his name is Rupert Rupert is a cheeky wee thing, he also likes to nibble on my tomatoes.

October

I love October, things settle down after the summer season. The leaves transform into a wonderful cacophony of colour, and when they eventually drop I love the crisp crunch as you walk along. But perhaps most important, October gives me a few weeks to catch my breath before the manic Christmas making and selling frenzy begins. Time we'll spent with family and friends xx

Early mornings

Early morning, peppermint tea, radio on and a stolen hour before work - time to crack out some Christmas decorations x
